So I've been out doing a bit more photography....

This time I've been up at Kings Park where there is a great view over the city and I managed to get some photos at sunset and twilight.

I also tried my hand at a moon shot. This photo was taken about 3 days before the full moon, but I'm told that the night before the full moon is the best time to take photos. Yesterday was spectacular but alas I was stuck at work and tonight is the full moon and its already way too dark and the moon isn't even up yet! Oh well, I'm reliably told by my brother that the craters will look more impressive when it's a half moon, so I shall give it another go then.

Trying my luck at the beach

Perths weather is decidedly against me! My day off and I was in the mood to go out and take some photos. I got as far as Trigg Beach and a couple of shots before the rain came down....again! This one wan't too bad though!

Water Drops

Ok so today it was too cold and blustery to go out and take photos so I decided to have my first attempt at water drop photos. I think they worked out ok but next time I will use  a less complicated background!!! Shot with my Olympus OMD 5  and olympus 50mm F2 macro lens. Lit with Olympus 600FLR flash.

Before the Olympus

My first foray into interchangeable lens cameras after having DSLR's was with the Ricoh GXR. It was a great camera and I loved the size and weight. The lens units brought out initially though, were for me, a bit disappointing from an IQ point of view - enter the M module! I loved it, in as much as it opened up a huge range of quality lenses, but I soon got frustrated with always having to use manual focus, as I found I missed quite a few spontaneous shots. I also couldn't find a decent zoom (within my price range) for those times when I just couldn't use my legs to do the zooming!.
Whilst hunting for 'the perfect lens' I came across an ad for the Olympus OMD 5 (which at that stage was soon to be released) and after some intense reading on the internet I was sold!
